Our Story

A Cup Full
of Culture.

Born from the ancient coffee lands of Yemen, brewed for the Bay Area.

Traditional Qishr tea

It starts with the husk, not the bean.

Long before coffee beans were roasted and ground the way the world knows them today, Yemeni households were brewing qishr — a tea made from the dried husk of the coffee cherry, spiced with ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom. It was never just a drink. It was how a home said welcome.

That ritual is centuries old, and it's the reason Qishr Coffee House exists. We wanted to bring that same warmth — unhurried, generous, deeply rooted — into a coffeehouse built for the pace of Silicon Valley.

Inside Qishr Coffee House

Heritage recipes, a modern room.

Every drink on our menu — the qishr, the Adeni tea, the Mofawar — is made the way it's been made in Yemeni homes for generations. Around it, we built a space that feels like it belongs in San Jose: warm light, comfortable seating, and a counter designed for long conversations as much as quick pickups.

"You're not just grabbing coffee here. You're experiencing a tradition."

Alongside our Yemeni Collection, you'll find a full espresso bar, specialty lattes, matcha, and pastries baked fresh daily — because hospitality means having something for everyone at the table.
